News - Germany is a gem for group tours

New escorted tours and river cruises in Germany added to the range for summer 2014

Grand UK Holidays has added two new escorted tours of Germany to its range of European holidays for summer 2014.

The operator also features several cruise options on Germany’s rivers, and three new river cruise itineraries for 2014 have been introduced to cater for demand.

Group travel organisers can book the Grand UK Holidays tours or work with sister brand, just for groups!, to tailor-make their own group holiday.

The two new coach tours are ‘From the Rhine to Bavaria – Pearls of Scenic Germany’ and ‘Secret Bavaria & Cruising the River Danube’.

The ‘Pearls of Scenic Germany’ holiday includes the tranquil woodlands of the Black Forest, a Rhine cruise, and the stunning fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle.

It is £699pp for eight days on a half-board basis.

‘Secret Bavaria & Cruising the River Danube’ includes the romantic city of Passau, as well as Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic and Linz in Austria.

It costs £639pp for eight days on a half-board basis.

The three new river cruises are ‘Cruising the Great Rivers of Germany’; ‘Cruising the River Rhine to Switzerland’; and ‘The Rhine in Flames’.

The ‘Great Rivers’ itinerary takes customers through the spectacular Rhine Gorge and on to the River Main to Frankfurt, and onwards to the River Necker – Germany’s best-kept secret – and then the Moselle River and the historic town of Cochem.

It costs from £899pp for nine days, on a full-board basis.

The second new itinerary explores the rivers Rhine and Moselle, and takes holidaymakers to Strasbourg in France and Basel and Lucerne in Switzerland.

It costs from £999pp for ten days, on a full-board basis.

Our special ‘Rhine in Flames’ cruise (pictured) combines scenic sailing on the glorious middle Rhine with an unforgettable ‘Night of the Thousand Fires’ at Oberwesel as our ship sails with the flotilla amid a fantastic musical firework display.

It is £849pp for eight days on a full-board basis.

Sales director Harold Burke said: “The scenic landscapes, historic cities and cultural attractions of Germany mean the country is always popular with our groups.

“We have added these new tours and river cruises to cater for the demand for fresh options in addition to our traditional favourites in Germany.

“We anticipate that the ‘Rhine in Flames’ will be particularly popular as it offers the classic sights of the Rhine along with an unforgettable display of fireworks and music on the river.”
