East Anglia & Norfolk Familiarisation Trip

just for groups teamed with Visit East Anglia and a range of Norfolk attractions to host almost 100 group travel organisers and partners on educational coach trips to the region. The GTOs stayed in some of the new accommodation, part of a £4m development programme, at the Warner Leisure Hotels’ Corton Coastal Village. The resort, which overlooks the coast on the border of Norfolk and Suffolk, makes an ideal base for exploring East Anglia.

Harold Burke, at just for groups!, said: “We received an excellent response from the GTOs who joined us on the three-day educationals and we anticipate thatmany of these groups will book tours of this region for one of their future holidays. We were also blessed with sunny weather for the trips!"

As part of the ‘A Taste of East Anglia’ tour, the GTOs visited the National Trust’s Blickling Hall (pictured), a magnificent Jacobean mansion which is very popular with groups – and reportedly the eternal home of Anne Boleyn.

Next was a visit to Aylsham for a nostalgic journey on the Bure Valley Railway, which offers a nine-mile trip to Wroxham, the 'Capital of the Norfolk Broads', with country stations serving the villages of Brampton, Buxton and Coltishall.

The tour also offered the chance to sample the delights of another Warner Leisure Hotel, as the groups enjoyed afternoon tea at Gunton Hall Coastal Village, with its walled garden, secluded woodland and a freshwater fishing lake.

Harold added: “We are very grateful for the support offered by all the attractions and other partners who helped us on these educational trips. Such events are great for building relationships among the trade, and with GTOs, and ultimately, they generate new business for the region. He added: “Our trip was particularly timely as East Anglia has been hitting the headlines recently, for all the right reasons. Broadland has been named as Britain's most peaceful place; Hollywood couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis enjoyed a mini-break on the Norfolk Broads; and we’re eagerly awaiting the release of the Alan Partridge film, which will see the silver-screen debut of North Norfolk Digital! Combine this with the new £4m VisitEngland/Wallace & Gromit campaign to boost domestic tourism, together with Warner Leisure Hotels’ massive investment in the region, and we’re confident we’ll see a healthy number of bookings for the East of England in the weeks and months ahead.”
