Perfect for experienced wine lovers and those who would like to learn more. Our qualified tutor provides a fun-filled day learning all about the art of wine-making; understanding the role of the grape variety, climate, techniques and the soil – plus pairing food with wine to suit personal taste. We also include a visit to Ryedale Vineyard, a family-owned business, for a tour and tasting.

Make your own way to Harrogate and the Old Swan Hotel, where check-in is from 15:00. At 18:30, there will be a welcome drink reception, enabling you the opportunity to meet and greet other u3a members on the break before dinner at 19:00.

Start today with a full English breakfast, before meeting our wine expert between 11:00 and 16:00, with a break for an included light lunch. The experience includes tasting and learning about 10 different wines, the basics of wine labelling terminology, pairing food and wine, selecting wines to suit your taste, how much to spend on a bottle of wine, and how to squeeze more enjoyment out of every drop!
