Between the mountain ranges, mining valleys and southern shorelines of South Wales, discover the splendour of the region's outstanding gardens. Helped by the warming Atlantic jet streams and rich soils of the area, the unique growing conditions nurture flora from around the world in amazing abundance. This three night break at the Mercure Swansea Hotel, includes dinner, bed and breakfast along with a welcome drink reception on the first evening, and coach excursions to Aberglasney Gardens, the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, and Dyffryn Gardens.
Your Self Drive Itinerary (subject to change)
DAY ONE: Make your own way to South Wales in time for a welcome drink reception and this evening’s dinner.
DAY TWO: This morning to the world renowned Aberglasney Gardens with its enigmatic garden structures such as the Yew Tunnel and Cloister Garden before we continue to the National Botanic Garden of Wales. The gardens were created around a huge Norman Foster designed tropical glasshouse.
DAY THREE: We visit the 55-acre Dyffryn Gardens, an Edwardian garden with an ever-changing seasonal landscape offering a treasure trove of delights including a magical arboretum, tropical glasshouse, working kitchen gardens and sweeping lawns. Afterwards we spend some free time in the Welsh capital, Cardiff.
DAY FOUR: A free day
DAY FIVE: Today we say our fond farewells before departing for home.
