The Manchester Ship Canal Cruise & the Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre

One of the most fascinating attractions in the North West of England is the six hour cruise along the 35 mile length of the Manchester Ship Canal from Salford to Liverpool. It’s a memorable journey combining history and ever-changing scenery with a lively commentary. We also include a fascinating visit to the Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre.

Isle of Wight of Yesteryear

The Victorian age in particular has left its mark on the island thanks in part to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. They loved the island so much that the, English Heritage award winning, Osborne House was bought and rebuilt for them, and this is just one of the special places we visit on this nostalgic trip back in time.

The Way We Were

On this nostalgic tour we turn the clocks back a 100 years or more and remember how things used to be. At the award- winning, Beamish, The Living Museum of the North, streets, shops and homes recreate life at the turn of the century. We also experience how it used to be in Nelson’s day and how the ‘other half’ lived at Cragside House.
